你好，Hello! My name is HongJuan Zhou. I also go by Jenny. I am originally from Chengdu, China. I have been living and teaching in Minnesota for more than eight years. I got my bachelor degree in marketing from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. However I put my effort and enthusiasm toward teaching. I worked as a foreign affair office staff and a management subject teacher at a university in GuangDong province in southern China. In 2007, I moved to the United States, and started to work towards the field of Chinese language and cultural education. In fall 2014, I received my Minnesota elementary teaching license. In spring 2015, I received my master degree in teaching from Hamline University.
This is my second year of teaching at Breck School. Before this, I taught at Jie Ming Mandarin Immersion Academy with St. Paul public. Prior than that, I was the Chinese lab instructor at Macalester College. I also accumulated my experience of teaching different levels of students in Minghua Chinese school, as well as raising my two sons in a bilingual environment.
I believe my professional practice and developing experience, as well as my personal learning experience will bring efficiency to help students to learn Chinese language and culture at Breck School. I also take the opportunity of working at Break School as a great learning experience to myself. I believe “perpetually learning” and determine to practice it to myself. I am very excited to the new school year.
Outside of work, I enjoy my life with my family. Among many things I like to do, travelling is most exciting for me. I like to see different places, meet different people, encounter different cultures, and become more open-minded. I think as a global citizen, I should be physically immersed in places around the world whenever I have the chance.
